Calamansi: The Philipeno Tanger-lime.

Yes, I called my little friend, the calamansi, a tanger-lime. It's a mix between a tangerine and a lime, and can be drank straight or mixed in food. It's a multipurpose fruit that comes from the Philipeno Islands and is my favorite drink and seasoning EVER.
It's alot more zestier than lemonade but just as sweet with the real thing, when made into a drink. Alone, I've never tried them but they smell like fresh tangerines! I bet just as succulent. These will be the key ingredient to an Asian spin on Meringue Pie :D
Look out for it!
Enjoy ~

Absurdly Easy Fudge
So while looking through my cabinet this morning, I found peanut butter and condensed milk. I wanted to make fudge but I didn't know if we had all the ingredients to make FULL ON fudge. But I did find a recipe to make 'Absurdly Easy Fudge' from CookingForEngineers.com :](click blog title for link to website)
All it takes is this:
16 oz. (450 g) peanut butter chips
4 Tbs. (57 g) butter
14 oz. (396 g) can sweetened condensed milk
My ingredients were like this:
6 tablespoons of peanut butter
4 tablespoons of butter
1 can of condensed milk
3 tablespoons of caramel
Instead of chips, I'm going to be using actual peanut butter and melting it with the butter down in my microwave. It just seems easiest.
Method:
I combine the peanut butter, caramel and butter into a microwave safe bowl and melt in intervals of 15 seconds until its melty and glistens.
Stir to combine, it took 30 seconds of my mixture to look like this::

I add the condensed milk like the recipe says, and stir until it's all combined.
[It looks super pretty~ And tastes great too~!]
Setting it in a tray or mold, I let my fudge sit and chill on the counter a little bit before placing it in the fridge for two hours or so. This goes for only if you're double-boiling your ingredients, with microwave, as soon as you stir it, it's cool enough to place in the mold.
Remove from fridge and cut into squares.
Enjoy! Images of my finished fudge shall be posted soon!!

Scottish Games: It's thick with vinegar and fried food O:

so the above it what was left of MASSIVE CURLY FRIES. Like, the brick was as big as the fryer they were in!! :o And while at the Scottish Games and enjoying these fries, the air was pungent with the smell of malt vinegar and frying oil. It was delectable. The fair grounds also housed stands for meat pies, corned beef and cabbage, beers, whiskey, and all sorts of other savory dishes.
It also housed many american sweets like ice cream and frozen lemonade, and the like.
I say my trip to the Games was a tasty, and eventful one.
Til next time~
Enjoy~

Snack Attack: Pumped Up Ramen & Baked Parmesan Encrusted Talapia
so, i was hungry not too long ago and then I thought of two things. The talapia in my fridge and the ramen in my cabinet. I did the obvious: Made the ramen and baked the fish. Sounds good right? Yes. Yes It is.
The talapia was from the grocery store, pre-crusted. But the ramen I made myself ^^ Enjoy my Pumped Up Ramen~
Ramen seasoning list:
Calamansi [there's that word again!]
Seasoned Salt from Red Robin [they sell it, 3 bucks a bottle~]
Ramen Packet.
Cook the ramen like you would but in the bottom of the bowl pour in this order:
-seasoning packet first
-then the calamansi
-last the seasoned salt/red robin seasoning blend
Pour the hot ramen in and enjoy that while the fish bakes at 400 for 20 minutes.
It was a painful wait for me.... but with the ramen, you want a little bit of water for that gravy ramen makes at the bottom :]
Take the fish from the oven and let it cool. Cut into peices and enjoy along side your ramen.

Now don't you feel asian? I bet you do.
Enjoy~

Sourdough Breakfast Sammich
Yes, the word 'sammich' is needed for this amazing piece of breakfast technology! It is a tower of cheese, egg, sausage and sourdough bread!! (Well, ok, I admit, it's a three layer sammich that is filling and hearty. advised to eat with a fruit cup~) This single decker but oh-so-ooey-gooey breakfast giant is a creation of mine when I was going to school and needed something I could take on the go that was all the goodness of homemade food from my grandmother in a packaged fast food sandwich style.
This one's for you Nye~! :]
So, start of with this stuff here:
Ingredients:
1 egg
1 frozen sausage patty
2 pieces sourdough bread [or any kind you wish]
1 slice american cheese [again, any kind you wish]
Pam [for the eggs]
Raspberry Jam [for toast]
A bowl
A fork

[yes the jam is needed.]
First:
heat the pan, low heat. this is for the sausage patty.

second:
pop toast in the toaster oven, you want a light brown.

third:
crack the egg in a bowl, sprinkle some seasoned salt in that.

fourth:
wait for sausage to be done cooking :]
you want a litte grease from the and some of the pam to cook the egg in.
if you don't like pam, you can use some butter. I didn't have any D: so...pam and grease it is!!

fifth:
pour eggs into the hot pan, flash cook them!! From the sausage cooking, it's still super warm :]

sixth:
by this time the toast should be done! Grab the from the toaster oven and slather them with some Raspberry Jam.

seventh:
assemble the toast and sausage. wait for the egg.
eighth:
once the egg is done, strip that cheese square open and place it on the egg atop the unjammed bread :]

[pardon the blurry picture, I was making sure my pan wasn't still on D:]
Last step:
crack open some water, assemble the beast and ENJOY!

Food, Baby!!
Well, this is my first shot at a food blog. I'm glad I did it though, so I can share with the world what I LOVE to eat :]I really like to cook savory dishes that are simple and flavorful (maybe not so much healthy, but still!) and I also love to bake, experimenting with different flavor combonations and ingredients to boxed mixed to make them taste homemade.
I hope in this effort to keep my love of food alive, I can get my grandmother to try new things with me :]
She was the inspriation to cook. She is the inspriation to be a pastry chef. She is the inspriation (along with my fiance!) to make this blog. And those are just PEOPLE muses!! :D
So, sit back with an empty tummy and an open heart. You might want to try these tasty yet satisfying delights~
